2 weeks ago, we did a Drab to Fab article featuring some of my favorite products. But since many of you are budget conscious, I thought I'd be merciful and give you less expensive options. So, here it is. Enjoy!

1. Your skin is your most beautiful and important feature!

Having soft, hydrated skin from head to toe is a philosophy we all want to live by. I am such a sucker for body lotion, and we all know I'm not the only one guilty of spending hours at Target's cosmetic aisles! Beware, it's a trap, there's a reason it's the first aisle we all walk by and check. Cetaphil's Moisturizing Lotion is an amazing non-scented cream that helps fight dry skin and dries instantaneously. Cetaphil also carries a Facial Cleanser formulated for all skin types and overall a simple, and effective product.

A tip for fighting acne prone skin is to find a product that contains salicylic acid. Salicylic acid helps clear your pores of bacteria, which is the leading cause for blemishes. For those of you who want an extra push for fighting pimples, Burt's Bees Natural Acne Solution Targeted Spot Treatment is a natural solution that has tea tree oil, which also helps fight redness and stubborn blemishes!

2. Bananas are nature's BOTOX?!!

Did you know that bananas are nature's botox? If you mush a medium sized banana with 1/4 a cup of organic yogurt and two tablespoons of honey, you can apply the mixture to your face and down to your neck and it will help relax your wrinkles with time. Allow the facial to set for around 10-20 minutes and rinse off with cold water! Obviously, this isn't the real deal like botox, but it's an incredibly cheap alternative. The reason bananas help smooth out the skin is from the potassium. Potassium is a mineral that is key in cell integrity. The minerals help hydrate dry cells and allow them to restore to their plump natural texture, ultimately relating to youthful, hydrated skin. Remember that what you eat, in the end, affects your body both internally and externally, so maintaining a mineral rich diet is crucial for a healthy lifestyle.

3. Protect what's most important to you!

As summer is coming along, I can only imagine that everyone will be going down to the beach or pool. Aside from getting our summer bodies ready for endless feeds of Instagram posts, it's important to protect your skin. I hate sunscreen. I hate the texture, smell, and most definitely how it turns your face a grayish pink tone, but protecting your skin is crucial for healthy skin. Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen is a lightweight protectant that feels like you have nothing on while the dry-touch technology is formulated to create waterproof protection enriched with antioxidants to help fight off the sun's harmful UV rays!

4. Does anybody want salon quality hair from home?

Since summer is coming, I'm assuming everyone is going to go lighter with more texture. I'm going ashy blonde, and the process is no joke! I researched a lot of different ways to maintain healthy hair after going lighter. John Frieda's line of Visibly Brighter In-Shower Lightening Treatments is a healthier alternative to going lighter. Although the product only goes one shade lighter, gradually going to the color you desire is a lot healthier than sitting at a salon head full of harsh chemicals for 4 hours.

5. Men's aftershave for women?!

Have you ever heard of using men's aftershave as a primer? It's a great product to use. Nivea's Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm is a men's product that can be applied as a primer after moisturizing. The reason it's such a great product is because of the glycerin. Glycerin has qualities that help products stick. Apply a generous coat then allow it to dry before applying your foundation. This trick will help your foundation stick to your skin and not cake up.

6. The no makeup look is coming back!

Remember, makeup is used to enhance one's natural beauty. It isn't used to transform one's face. Numerous times my friends ask me to do their makeup like Gigi Hadid at some award show is ridiculous! As a makeup artist, I always promote natural beauty, and it's important to know that everybody is beautiful in their own ways. (cheesy, but very true!) Natural brows, dewy skin, rosy cheeks, and perky lashes are perfect for the no makeup look. Below are lists of fantastic drugstore options for the no makeup look.

Nowadays, you can barely see the difference in high-end products vs. drugstore products, therefore, going to your local drugstore and finding the best, hidden gems is a budget friendly alternative.
